Our Story
Small Seeds. Big Impact
It all started in school gardens.
We saw firsthand how powerful it was when kids got their hands in the soil — learning where food comes from, solving problems together, and connecting with the land through kaitiakitanga (care and guardianship of the environment). But we also saw the struggle: busy teachers, limited time, and garden beds left to dry out.
So we formed PiPS, an inter-school collective that supports garden programs by employing part-time facilitators to keep the mahi going — across seasons and school terms.
Veg Babies was born from this same spirit of support — but this time, for families and households. We asked: What if we could help everyday people grow food in their own backyards, balconies, and community plots? What if we could bring the magic of gardening home?
